February 10, 2018 - New York

Nothing . . . except their passion for comedy, their ability to break down racial and ethnic barriers through laughter, and their belief that diversity enhances all of our lives. These 3 men – Akash Bhasin, Alex Barnett and Charles McBee – who come from three very different backgrounds, use comedy to tackle head-on the racial and ethnic prejudices and stereotypes that even now in the 21st Century still linger. Through their unique comedic perspectives, these men challenge the prejudices that still exist in today's world. And, when they do, look out, you'll find yourself not only laughing out loud but emerging with new perspectives on race and ethnicity and the wonderful diversity of American culture. So, what do these men, these comedians have in common? Nothing except the fact that they all use comedy and laughter to bring everyone closer together . . . . Oh, and all three of them love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The Diversity Show . . . Bringing People Together One Joke at A Time

John 5 & The Creatures - Highline Ballroom
February 12, 2018 - New York

"When I drove to LA when I was 18, from my parent's home in Grosse Pointe, I never thought I would be standing on the stage with some of the world's most renowned performers. I never dreamed I would be making records with bands I grew up listening to. I just wanted to play guitar. I just wanted to have a career as a session musician, make music and that would have been happiness enough. I can tell you honestly, I still grin from ear to ear completely humbled by what life, music has done for me. I feel like the happiest man alive sometimes – I kid you not!" – John 5, LA, February 2013. John 5 is undoubtably one of the hottest shredders on the planet right now. His impressive resume of working with frontmen such as Marilyn Manson, Rob Halford, Dave Lee Roth and his current gig as the right hand man for Rob Zombie, show his impressive skills have not gone unnoticed, but it doesn't do him justice to label John 5 as a shredder – he's a guitarist, a great guitarist – and there's little he can't put his hand to.

Marion Grodin - Gotham Comedy Club
February 20, 2018 - New York

When it comes to comedy, Marion Grodin can pretty much do it all….When it comes to life…well, she's still working on paying her parking tickets, and trying not to eat cake. Marion started out as a staff writer for the network sitcoms "It's a Living" and "Princesses", was put under contract to Twentieth Century Fox, and later went on to sell six screenplays. Just as she was about to embark on her seventh screenplay, it dawned on her that her father had not lovingly nicknamed her "Mouth" for nothing; she decided it was time to start saying all these funny things she was writing for other people to say… So, for the last decade, Marion Grodin has been one of the hottest comics in the country. She is a favorite at New York City's top clubs, including Standup NY and Gotham Comedy Club, where she regularly headlines. As one of the country's top emcees, Marion's incredible ability to improvise has allowed her to master the art of talking with the audience. Always willing to be as self-revealing as she is probing of the audience…this affectionately edgy style has become Marion's trademark. The result is a hilariously personal show that makes the audience feel like it was custom-made just fo... (read more)

San Marco Quartet - 5 Manhattan West
Through February 21, 2018 - New York

Video Installation by David Rokeby; San Marco Quartet layers all the actions of people and pigeons on Piazza San Marco in Venice into a pair of evolving images showing two views. The images are lit by movement; things that are not moving are invisible. Walking pigeons leave worm-like traces. Gathered people disappear through their shifting motions. Tour groups flow across the image like a river. The left side combines the activities into a very long exposed image that develops over several minutes. In the projection on the right, the past fades more quickly. The moving images are presented as two video projections mirrored at their point of meeting. They use the same material and with differences in how time is portrayed. They present a record of the temporary social architecture that is shaped by the permanent physical architecture of the piazza. Curated by Pari Nadimi. ABOUT DAVID ROKEBY David Rokeby is an installation artist based in Toronto, Canada. He has been creating and exhibiting since 1982. For the first part of his career he focused on interactive pieces that directly engage the human body, or that involve artificial perception systems. In the last deca... (read more)

The Dandy Warhols - Highline Ballroom
February 23, 2018 - New York

And then, the roof fell in. Literally. Three days after The Dandy Warhols finished recording their ninth album, Distortland, a 14,000 lb gush of water collapsed the roof of the Dandy's studio, filling the place with rainwater and 80 years of roofing materials. Had it happened a few days later, the Dandy's would have been on tour and the two months of humidity which ensued would have wrecked every last piece of gear. Well, as any good comedian knows, timing is everything. "Our whole thing is a disorganized byproduct of being alive," says Taylor-Taylor. "So our music is organized disorganization." Indeed it is – the Dandy's have always spectacularly blended the pristine with the unusual, the rhythmic with the unpredictable, the grit with the sheen. Since their inception in 1994, they've sailed through and past shifting musical climates by presenting thoughts un-mired by censorship and unfiltering their art. Making music out of Portland, Oregon for over twenty years, The Dandy Warhols - Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Zia McCabe (keyboards), Peter Holmstrom (guitar), and Brent DeBoer (drums) -- have gone on world tours, had hit singles and even taken the stage during the Greek... 7th Annual Humor for HOPE - Gotham Comedy Club
February 28, 2018 - New York

The HOPE Program lifts New Yorkers out of poverty through training, jobs, and career advancement. We serve 450 New Yorkers each year. Our students are some of our city's most vulnerable residents, men and women who are overcoming significant challenges – communities of poverty and violence, low educational attainment, histories of substance abuse and homelessness, and criminal justice involvement. At HOPE, our comprehensives programming provides training and access to industry-leading certifications with computer and financial literacy, work wellness, access to free breakfast and lunch, MetroCards, art therapy and improv workshops, and a network of support. As a result, our job retention and job placement rates are among the strongest in the field, nationwide. While the unemployment rate has improved, there are still hundreds of thousands of out-of-work New Yorkers eager to earn a living and provide for their families. The data tells us that people of color, jobseekers without a high school education, disconnected youth, immigrants and individuals with criminal justice histories face disproportionate challenges to entering the workforce.

Following a sell-out run at London's Royal Court Theatre and subsequent transfer to the West End, Olivier and Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh (Atlantic/Broadway's The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Cripple of Inishmaan) returns to Atlantic with his first US premiere in 8 years! "Hangmen is a triumphant return for Martin McDonagh! Samantha Fish - Highline Ballroom
March 07, 2018 - New York

Whether one leans towards the blues, opts for Americana or ignites some special fervour by playing with a garage band, there's a common bond that suggests a reverence for the roots. Looking back towards an earlier template -- no matter what the genre -- proves the point that appreciating what came before can be a stepping stone for what comes next. Samantha Fish knows that all too well, and it's been evidenced in the music she's made her entire career. While she's well known as a purveyor of blues, having been lauded by such legends as Buddy Guy, the Royal Southern Brotherhood and Luther Dickinson, her real love is simply raw, scrappy rock and roll. "I grew up on it," she insists. "Working with Luther on my last album further instilled that spirit in me. It made me realize just how much that basic, unfettered sound means to me, and how well it ties into soul music, R&B, country and so many other forms of music that are essential even today."

She recorded for Ani Difranco's Righteous Babe Records for several years before starting her own Wilderland label in 2012. Among her recorded works are six full-length albums, including 2010's sensationally reviewed Hadestown, a folk opera based on the Orpheus myth; 2012's Young Man in America, which was described by the UK's Independent as "an epic tale of American becoming"; and 2013's Child Ballads, a collaboration with Jefferson Hamer, which won a BBC Radio Two Folk Award for Best Traditional Track. Mitchell has headlined shows worldwide as well as supporting tours for Bon Iver, Ani Difranco, The Low Anthem (all of whom appear as guest singers on Hadestown), Josh Ritter, and Punch Brothers. Her stage production of Hadestown, which was ten years in the making, opened Off-Broadway in May 2016 to rave reviews. Painstakingly researched for three years, the film enlisted the expertise of more than 100 scientists and historical advisers.
