MoMA PS1 is showcasing the first-ever retrospective of Filipina-American artist Pacita Abad, who is self-taught and known for her trapuntos: quilted paintings made by stitching and stuffing her canvases. Spanning the artist’s 32-year career, the exhibition features more than 50 works; most of them have never been on display before.

Admission is free for New Yorkers and pay-what-you-wish for everyone else.
