Hop across the East River and try New Year’s in Brooklyn—after all, Times Square and Manhattan don't have monopolies on all the 2019 action! In Kings County you'll find a Prohibition-themed party, several rock concerts, a heated beer garden, fireworks at Prospect Park, and much more. Below are 10 events where you can count down to 2019, Brooklyn-style.

NYE 2019 in Brooklyn NYC: Brewery Bash

New year, new beer at Brooklyn Brewery, celebrating 2019 in Williamsburg. Dance to tunes from DJ Tekit Izi, drink from an open beer bar, and feast on a fried chicken wing from local favorite Pies ‘n’ Thighs. There will be special barrel-aged beers released throughout the party and a toast poured from an unreleased Ghost Bottle at midnight. 21 and up. NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: Fireworks at Grand Army Plaza

The triumphal arch at Grand Army Plaza will make a perfect backdrop for the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks in Prospect Park. This Prospect Heights party will include live entertainment and fireworks at the stroke of midnight for the 39th year in a row. RSVP; free admission. 10:30pm-12:30am. The popular Bushwick club House of Yes will host not one but two New Year’s parties for 2019. Get all gussied up for Prohibition Disco, a Roaring Twenties-themed party starting at 9pm. Period-appropriate dress is encouraged, and musical guests will include Kidnap, Kat Cunning, Mira Fahrenheit, and Mike Swells. The invite also promises burlesque broads, a makeup station, and women of ill repute. New New Year’s Eve, on the other hand, is expected to be a very 21st-century party, with luxury cuddle puddles and body art. There will also be living sculptures, dancing, and a healing lounge. NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: Brew Year’s Eve at Coney Island Brewery

A laid-back New Year’s Eve on the beach comes courtesy of Coney Island Brewery. Lounge in a bean-bag chair in a heated tent, and drink all the beer you’d like, including a new release of Brut IPA at midnight. Food will be provided by local Italian restaurant Gargiulo’s. One ticket buys you four pint tokens, food, a swag bag, and the sight of a live Coney Island merman. NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: Fawkn’ New Year’s Eve

Fawkner, which has been called the “coziest bar in Brooklyn,” will get a little more spirited for 2019. This Boerum Hill hotspot is currently selling tickets for a party with a DJ, dancing, and drinking. A $35 ticket buys you two drinks and one item off the menu, plus a champagne for toasting at midnight. $10 for dancing only. $40 at the door. NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: David Guetta at Brooklyn Warehouse

Coming a Brooklyn warehouse near you, two-time Grammy award winner David Guetta will bring down the house for the new year. It’s set to be an EDM extravaganza for ages 18 and up, thrown by Light & Life. A range of tickets, including VIP tables, are available and going fast. $109-199. 9pm. Location TBD, tixr.com

NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: Masterworks New Year’s Eve Concert at Bargemusic

If you’d rather ring in the new year with Vivaldi than EDM, check out Bargemusic’s New Year’s Eve concert. Located on an antique barge in the East River, this venue hosts regular classical concerts with a killer view of the Manhattan skyline. The New Year’s program features, fittingly, Four Seasons by Vivaldi, Bach’s Violin Concerto in A Minor, and Vivaldi’s Concerto for Violin and Cello in B-Flat Major. $150. 7pm. 1 Water St., info@bargemusic.org, bargemusic.org

NYE 2019 in Brooklyn NYC: Post Malone at Barclays Center

Post Malone, or “White Iverson,” will headline the arena at Barclays Center on New Year’s Eve. The young rap icon, whose most recent album went Platinum, is known for songs like “Better Now,” “Psycho,” and “Rockstar.” He will also play December 29 at 7:30pm. NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: Margo Price at Music Hall of Williamsburg

Up-and-coming country star Margo Price is playing the Music Hall of Williamsburg for the holiday. Get a taste of Price’s Nashville sound, as well as that of her opener, singer-songwriter Lilly Hiatt. NYE 2019 in Brooklyn: The Get Up Kids

The Get Up Kids

Indie outfit The Get Up Kids will rock out till it’s 2019 at the record shop/performance venue Rough Trade in Williamsburg. Energetic and emo at once, the fivesome is sure to welcome in a balanced new year with help from Active Bird Community and Retirement Party.
