Magazine Newsstands

Best of NYC International Newsstands: Ink (East Village)

Ink is known for its expansive selection of both domestic and international publications, including art, photography, and fashion magazines that should be considered works of art in and of themselves. Looking for a specific celebrity on a foreign edition of Vogue or the like? Make sure you swing by. As for those of you who don’t have a specific issue in mind, browsing the shelves here is a pleasure all on its own. 66 Ave. A, 212-420-6030

Best of NYC International Newsstands: Around the World (Midtown West)

Around the World

Nestled in the heart of the Garment District, Around the World’s collection of both domestic and international fashion magazines is what sets them apart from all the other newsstands on this list. The prices here are on-point as well, so you won’t be paying an arm and a leg for that latest international issue of GQ. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for in their shop? You can always special order your magazine through their website for in-store pick-up. 148 W. 37th St., 212-695-2534, aroundtheworldnyc.com

Best of NYC International Newsstands: Casa Magazines (West Village)

Casa Magazines is your go-to newsstand if you’re in the market for back issues. While the shop itself is tiny (seriously, it’s a narrow, one-room deal), there are hidden storage areas for employees. That being said, if you can’t find what you’re looking for on the floor (literally and figuratively), make sure you ask somebody working there to check the back stock for you — chances are they’ll find it. 22 8th Ave., 212-645-1197

Best of NYC International Newsstands: Magazine Café (Midtown West)

Magazine Cafe

If you’re not sure what topic you want to read about, but know that you want to physically flip through some pages with your own two hands, then head over to Magazine Café, where their main purpose is “to keep the art of magazine reading alive.” You’ll find everything from Art & Photography and Food & Beverage magazines to News & Business and Computer & Tech magazines on their shelves, and that includes international editions. 15 W. 37th St., 212-391-2004, magazinecafestore.com

Best of NYC International Newsstands: The Tobacco Store (Union Square)

The Tobacco Store might have glass pipes in its storefront windows and a name that suggests cigars (which, they do have too!), but this shop’s also got an impressive collection of magazines within its walls as well. You’ll find sections labeled by language along their shelves and a vast array of Art & Design, Fashion, Tech, News, Business, and Entertainment magazines for your reading pleasure. 108 University Pl., 212-807-1540
