Staten Island Tri/Duathlon (13th Annual)
Midland Beach Staten Island hosts some of the calmest ocean waters for swimmers. Enjoy the flat, closed 3-loop bike course with spectators cheering along the course. The run on the boardwalk is an out and back U-turn course that gives racers the opportunity to see their competition. The Staten Island Tri/Duathlon supports the Rocco Laurie Scholarship Fund in honor of Rocco Laurie, a Vietnam veteran and NYPD officer who lost his life while serving. The Rocco Laurie Scholarship Fund provides scholarships and aid to students and non-profit organizations. Over the past 11 years, NYTri has helped raise over $60,000 for the organization.
