Dudamel Conducts Mahler and Schubert
Gustavo Dudamel's two weeks with the Philharmonic conclude with Mahler's Song of the Earth. This work of surpassing beauty is an impassioned contemplation of the transience of life, with beauty, joys, sorrows, love, and, finally, a haunting goodbye set against nature's eternal self-renewal. Our guest conductor also leads Schubert's Fourth with the composer's lyrical gift on full display.
