Be swept away by the wonder, magic, and breathless virtuosity of masterpieces by Grieg and Mahler. From its famous opening flourish, Grieg's concerto thrills with bold keyboard writing, but its stream of gorgeous melodies—many suggesting Norwegian folk songs—are also stunning. Mahler's symphony flirts with folk themes too, but it's only one facet of a magnificently scored gem that opens with the evocative sound of sleigh bells and culminates in a child's sweet song extolling heaven's joys.
