Sean Sullivan and Spencer Shakespeare
The BDDW Annex Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of recent selected works by Sean Sullivan and Spencer Shakespeare. Please join us for the opening reception Thursday, September 12 from 6-8pm. The show will be on view through October 20th.
Sean Sullivan approaches drawing and printmaking as a recording process similar to and inspired by early photography and musical recordings. The result is a transfer process that records, in oil paint, the intended lines of the drawing as well as the unpredictable marks of chance. Sullivan lives and works in the Hudson Valley, NY.
Spencer Shakespeare's work is inspired by the natural world and draws from his surroundings - formerly Queensland, Australia, and now Cornwall, UK. He uses bold swathes of color and texture to create his paintings and mixed media work. Shakespeare graduated with a degree in design from Bournemouth College of Art and Design in the UK specializing in natural history illustration.
