The Melodic Genius of Clifford Brown
The jazz world was robbed when he was killed in a car crash at the age of 25 in 1956. We celebrate this jazz legend with three of today's most revered trumpet masters—Tom Harrell, Warren Vaché, and Joe Magnarelli—each of whose artistry reflects Brown's influence. Joined by the sensational young vocalist Veronica Swift, they'll take on Clifford Brown originals ("Joy Spring," "Daahoud" … ) and standards closely associated with him ("You'd Be So Nice to Come Home to," "Lullaby of Birdland" … ) and more. Join us for this celebration of a melodic genius. Tom Harrell, trumpet Warren Vaché, trumpet Joe Magnarelli, trumpet Veronica Swift, vocals Bill Charlap, piano Peter Washington, bass Kenny Washington, drums
