Heartland Brewery Opens NYC's Largest Beer Garden

Heartland Brewery, New York City’s premier microbrew restaurant, has opened the Big Apple’s largest beer garden at Pier 17 at South Street Seaport. The temporary waterfront beer garden is being set up for Spiegeltent, an entertainment extravaganza that runs through October 1st. The spectacular beer garden, complete with cabanas, tents, daybeds and dramatic night lighting, will offer unparalleled views of the East River, the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, Fulton Landing and Governor’s Island.

As the official and only beer and food purveyor for Spiegeltent, Heartland Brewery will be offering a wide array of its handcrafted beers, including favorites such as Apricot Ale, Cornhusker Lager and Indiana Pale Ale. In addition, Heartland has designed a new brew for the event – Spiegel Light, which is made with Belgian yeast, orange oil and coriander. Visitors to the beer garden can also enjoy a variety of great Heartland Brewery food selections, from antipasto to BBQ’d pulled pork sandwiches, as well as hot dogs and smoothies for kids.

The beer garden, which can accommodate up to 600 people, will be open noon to 2 a.m. seven days a week.

Spiegeltent, a transportable, globetrotting one-stop shop for an eclectic mix of local and international talent will be located at the former site of the former Fulton Fish Market at South Street Seaport. Featuring cabaret, music and performance, the Spiegeltent will run multiple shows every day for 60 days, including hilarious and imaginative acts that are geared toward families and children.
