Join us as a subject matter expert gives us the facts on the topic of the month, while a handful of hilarious comics details what that topic is like in real life. This month's theme is everyone's favorite Thanksgiving dinner table topic: ABORTION! Hosted by social scientist and expert on abortion in the United States, Jenna Jerman, and comedienne extraordinaire, Mariah Heinegg. Performers: Elise Valderrama Bio: Peruvian-born, Miami-raised, Elise Valderrama came to the United States from Lima at age 5. She studied at UCB while attending the School of Visual Arts. In 2013, she helped launch the ABC/Univision joint venture, Fusion Network. Elise worked both on camera as a correspondent in addition to off camera as a writer and producer. Most recently, she has appeared on Mr. Robot (USA). Shalewa Sharpe Shalewa Sharpe tells jokes. She developed her sly yet goofy style in Atlanta, where she was raised. Currently based in Brooklyn, she has joked on enough shows (Night Train w/Wyatt Cenac, Hidden Fences), festivals (Bridgetown, New York Comedy Fest, Eugene Mirman Fest) and podcasts (2 Dope Queens, You're The Expert, Guys We F*cked) that in 2017 Time Out NY labeled her a "local fixture." In May 2016, her debut album, "Stay Eating Cookies," was released on Rotknee Presents Records; it can be found on iTunes, Google Music, and all streaming platforms.
