An exciting new shopping destination has recently opened in New York City. Empire Outlets, a retail center in Staten Island, is the only outlet mall within the five boroughs of New York City and the first of its kind in one of the shopping capitals of the world. Located just across New York Harbor from One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty, a free 20-minute Staten Island Ferry ride connects you with deals on your favorite brands—and some of the best views of the New York skyline.

At 340,000 square feet in size, Empire Outlets will contain some of the most popular retail brands in the world to attract locals and tourists alike. Visit for fantastic deals at the Gap Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Nordstrom Rack, and Levi’s Outlet. Other brands on site include the Nike Factory Store, Old Navy Outlet, H&M, and Columbia Factory Store. Aerie, American Eagle, Crocs, GNC, Samsonite, and True Religion also have stores at Empire Outlets. (Not everything is open quite yet, but new stores are coming on weekly, including a big welcoming bash for Nordstrom Rack on July 4th, 2019.)

Empire Outlets will also offer several dining options for shoppers. Popular Greenwich Village falafel shop Mamoun’s will open a location, as well as the unbeatable Shake Shack. Both restaurants will be joined by the complex’s 40,000-square-foot food mall, MRKTPL, opening later this summer. Starbucks, Häagen-Daz, and Wetzel’s Pretzels are already open on site for tasty coffees, ice cream, and pretzels during your day of shopping.

With its stupendous view of Lower Manhattan, Empire Outlets’ public spaces give you relaxing places to sit and drink in the waterfront. In fact, this is one of the largest activated waterfronts in the entire city. When you’re finished shopping and eating, you can also visit nearby Staten Island cultural gems such as the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, a historic area with antique architecture, 14 botanical gardens, and a Children’s Museum. The opening of Empire Outlets is expected to drive future development in Staten Island’s North Shore as the increased flow of visitors enjoy all this “Unexpected Borough” has to offer.
