Join the Three-Day July 4th Block Party at Empire Outlets

Empire Outlets, New York City’s first and only outlet mall, will light up July 4 weekend this year! Come to this waterfront destination on Staten Island for a three-day block party this Independence Day weekend. The event will coincide with the grand opening of Nordstrom Rack, the discount brand of the fine department store Nordstrom.

The new retail and dining center will host visitors at a slate of free events, July 4-6. Families can hop on the free Staten Island Ferry and enjoy food, music, and fireworks at Empire Outlets, located a short walk from the St. George Ferry Terminal on Staten Island’s North Shore. 

High & Mighty Brass Band

With spectacular views of the New York City skyline, Empire Outlets is an ideal vantage point to watch fireworks on July 4. The block party will begin at noon on Independence Day and conclude with fireworks by Empire Outlets at 9pm. During the day, visitors can indulge in food and drink from a wide range of vendors and a pop-up Beer Garden. Kids can enjoy playing with sidewalk chalk, making tie-dye crafts, getting face paint, and building large-scale sandcastles all day long. There will be live music by Spotlight Theatre Company, HitList, and the High & Mighty Brass Band (above), as well as DJs playing sets on the waterfront.

July 5 and 6, Empire Outlets will bring in food carts, entertainment, and DJs throughout the day. Friday, July 5, come see a free outdoor movie screening of 1996 cult classic Independence Day. The screening will start at 8:30pm, and visitors will get free popcorn for the show!

Including Nordstrom Rack, the brand-new Empire Outlets will boast 100 retail vendors. Stores currently open at the complex include Banana Republic Factory Store, Levi Outlet, Gap Factory Store, and Old Navy Outlet. Families from across the five boroughs of New York City—as well as out-of-town-visitors—are invited to experience this unique shopping and dining complex in this up-and-coming area of Staten Island. For food and drink, check out Starbucks and Wetzel’s Pretzels, as well as an upcoming artisanal food hall called MRKTPL and a new Shake Shack location. The waterfront location boasts plenty of public space for enjoying views of the Lower Manhattan skyline, not to mention plenty of deals in stores!
