NYC's Twin Peaks/Mad Men Inspired Cocktail Bar The Lately Opens

Those that appreciate a good cocktail and cozy ambiance will want to check out the new Twin Peaks meets Mad Men inspired cocktail bar, The Lately, now open in New York's Meatpacking District.

Mad Men Twin Peaks

The two-story, 3,400-square-foot bar is the brainchild of John Meadows LDV Hospitality and Adam Fulton, Gavin Moseley, and Grant Wheeler of Den Hospitality, with a striking hunter green exterior. Inside, spacious wood banquettes decorated with fun animal and floral wallpapers line the left side of the main bar area. In the back, take a seat and gaze at the cabin-inspired fireplace, adorned with mallards.

The Lately

The bar serves up a three-tier selection of cocktailsclassics for the traditionalists, such as Don Draper's fave, an Old Fashioned; the second tier offers a new spin on the classics, such as the extra tasty Mr. & Mrs Kim (for Moscow Mule lovers), with Tito's, cucumber, amani, lime matcha cordial, and ginger beer; and the third level plays on flavors even more, such as the Lemmy Lives (a nod to Motorhead's not-living Lemmy Kilmister), a spiced up version of Jack 'n' Coke, with punt e mes, a spiced kola cordial, lemon, and angostura bitters. A variety of draft and canned beer is on the menu, too.

Patrons can nosh on tasty finger bites, including falafel, Sigmund's hot pretzels, ham sandwiches, peanuts laced with chili lime, popcorn with Sriracha, and hush puppies served with a jalapeno cheese sauce.

The Lately will keep traditional city bar hours, Wednesday through Saturday, 4pm-4am, Sunday to Tuesday, 4pm-2am. For more information, visit thelatelybar.com. Cheers.
