Calpurnia - Irving Plaza
July 15, 2018 - New york

Calpurnia's story is how teenage rock dreams are meant to unfold: four friends, all raised on a healthy diet of the Beatles, Nirvana and David Bowie, and a deep love for their respective instruments, retreat one day to a basement and begin jamming together. They cut their teeth on some cover songs and then, with just enough confidence and a dose of adolescent enthusiasm, they write and record their own tunes. "It was kind of destined to be," Finn Wolfhard says of the almost serendipitous genesis of the rough-and-tumble Vancouver-based indie-rock foursome he formed with three of his now-closest friends. "We all just really clicked. And when I'm passionate about something," the singer-guitarist adds of Calpurnia, "I like to get it done as quickly as I can. There's not a lot of wasting time".

Healy, Elujay - Mercury Lounge
July 15, 2018 - New York

Healy live san almost double life, balancing music with being a 3rd year medical student. Before medical school, Healy was a resident advisor at the University of Memphis, writing and recording from his dorm room.Healy's debut song $150 / roll widdit, a euphoric exploration of monetary modesty skillfully coupled with an organic spin on Three 6 Mafia's Roll With It caught the internet on it's heels, garnering over 8million streams to date. After only two years of an online residency, Healy has acquired nearly 50,000 followers and 20million streams over all musical platforms. With cosigns from the likes of Houston's Jas Prince and Australia's Troye Sivan, it's evident thatHealy's crossover appeal has the ability to transcend both genre and continent. Two years later, Healy is ready to step into his own, presenting a powerful mastery of soundscape and a multidimensional approach to his musical efforts with his debut album Sublu... An Albatross, Fero Lux, Dead Empires, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Arms, The Callous Daoboys, Mary Todd, Horse Torso, Detach the Islands - Saint Vitus Bar
July 15, 2018 - Brooklyn

An Albatross is a psychedelic sonic orgasm; a barrage of mechanical, jerky and discombobulated time signatures eclipsed by hectic Farfisa organ/synthesizer melodies. Not unlike sitting down with an average American family during primetime television, the music is unquestionably attention-span friendly for an ADD-diagnosed society: unbelievably short, complex, infectious bursts of polyrhythms and spirit. Currently, the "family" includes percussionista Steven Vaiani, writhing, psychedel-evangelist vocalist Eddie B. Gieda III, rhythmic contortionista bassist Jay Hudak, Farfisa/Hammond-master, Phillip Reynolds Price and newest family member: thundergod guitarist Daniel Schlett. After relocating their facilities to spaces in both Wilkes-Barre, PA and South Amboy, NJ, in early 2008 the group began orchestrating their most robust and progressive work yet: "The An Albatross Family Album."

Mick Flannery, Fully Human - Mercury Lounge
July 17, 2018 - New York

Mick Flannery is widely regarded as one of the finest singer-songwriters to come out of Ireland in recent years. An award winning- double platinum selling artist, Mick has released five albums to date – including two number ones and received widespread airplay. He became the first Irish musician to ever win awards at the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, aged 19. His critically acclaimed live performances have seen him sell out shows in Ireland's Olympia Theatre and Cork Opera House. Mick first picked up a guitar at age of 14 under the musical influence of his mother's family in their old farmhouse in Blarney, Co. Cork where he grew up listening to Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, and Jim Croce. Mick wrote songs throughout his teens, while training as a stonemason, which culminated in him signing to a major label at just 21 and releasing his first album "Evening Train". Mick's most recent albums were written in Berlin, a move Mick himself refers to as "self-imposed exile". July 17, 2018 - Brooklyn

Eilen Jewell laughs when told her label's president called her a musicologist. But she confirms she and her husband and bandmate, Jason Beek, have a passion for studying American music. "We really love to uncover the past. It's almost like digging for buried treasure," she says. "For me, that's where music is at. I like all kinds of music as long as there's the word early in front of it." For her new album, Down Hearted Blues, on Signature Sounds, they unearthed 12 vintage gems written or made famous by an array of artists both renowned and obscure, from Willie Dixon and Memphis Minnie to Charles Sheffield and Betty James. Then, like expert stonecutters, they chiseled them into exciting new shapes and forms, honoring history while breathing new life into each discovery.

Chances are, if you are anywhere near the Detroit music scene, you have heard of the influential hip hop trio that makes up Slum Village. The group was founded in the early 90?s by 3 childhood friends: Baatin, T3, rapper and producer J Dilla, who all grew up together in the Conant Gardens neighborhood of Detroit, MI. After leaving Pershing High School, the trio began to forge a path into the Detroit underground hip hop scene and quickly found themselves steadily gaining popularity, where they originally went by the name Ssenepod. With a growing momentum now cemented in the underground, the group took on a forward trajectory toward bigger and better things, and in 1991 changed their name to Slum Village. J Dilla joined the production team known as The Ummah, which produced the two last A Tribe Called Quest studio albums, as well as hits for a number of R&B and hip hop musicians, and in 1996, they recorded their first album Vol. 1? , recorded in Dillas basement and RJ Rice Studios, it was critically acclaimed in the Detroit underground scene. Toots & the Maytals - Live in Concert - The Capitol Theatre
July 20, 2018 - Port Chester

Toots is one of the true architects of reggae – so much so that "Do the Reggay," a 1968 single by Toots and his group, the Maytals, is credited with giving the genre its name. Classic songs written and recorded by Toots and the Maytals have been covered by the likes of the Clash and the Specials, and the group was featured in reggae's greatest breakthrough event – "The Harder They Come," the 1972 film that became an international sensation. The all-star guests on TRUE LOVE range from legends like Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Bonnie Raitt to younger stars including No Doubt, the Roots, and Phish's Trey Anastasio. The caliber of these collaborators reveals the impact that Toots has had on several generations of rockers and rappers, while appearances from reggae icons Bunny Wailer and Marcia Griffiths show the respect granted to the man who might be the music's greatest living vocalist. At the heart of it all is that voice – drenched in soul, rooted in gospel, and still breathtakingly powerful after almost four decades in the spotlight.
