Want to book a last-minute ticket to the theatre this fall without breaking the bank? Check out 20at20, a biannual promotion that presents Off-Broadway theatre for less, running now through October 4th.
Originally created in 2007 by the Off-Broadway Alliance, 20at20 is as easy as its name, offering $20 tickets, available 20 minutes before a performance, for 20 days. To take advantage of the deal, theatregoers simply need to stop by a show’s box office 20 minutes before the performance they’d like to see and mention the offer to receive their $20 seats.
This fall’s 20at20 promotion includes over 40 shows, ensuring every taste will find something to enjoy. The promotion includes the long-running hits Avenue Q, Stomp, and The Fantasticks, along with classic tales like The Two Gentlemen of Verona and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at St. Luke’s Theater. Those looking to discover something new may want to check out Atlantic Theatre Company’s Cloud Nine, a play by British playwright Caryl Churchill, returning to NYC for the first time since 1981, or the New York premiere of Daddy Long Legs, an intimate new musical by Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre) and John Caird (Les Miserables).
For audiences seeking something a bit more outrageous, 20at20 offers such Off-Broadway titillation as Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, Drunk Shakespeare, Women Are Crazy Because Men Are A**holes, and, of course, the long-running Naked Boys Singing!
