Each September, New York Oyster Week presents opportunities to enjoy oysters and oyster-centric events across the city, from Oceana to La Piazza at Eataly to Governors Island. New York Oyster Week 2015 runs from September 10 to 27.

Highlights include:
*9/10 Brooklyn Oyster Riot at the Brooklyn Brewery, beginning at 6:30pm, will showcase some of the finest oysters in the world.
*9/10-27 NYC seafood superstar Oceana is offering an international special: Executive Chef Ben's Oyster Sambar with Green Mango Salad (they'll be donating to the Billion Oyster Project for every sambar sold).
*9/12 ShuckEasy, at the Hotel on Rivington (6:30pm) will feature five species of oysters commonly consumed in North America.
*9/18 NYHS Regatta & Bash on Governors Island. Live reggae music, Dark 'n’ Stormies and specialties from New York’s top restaurants transport the senses.
*9/18 London Lennie's Oyster Fest invites you to showcase your slurping skills during a Slurp-Off competition taking place daily, culminating in the Slurp-Off All Star Championship ($500 prize) during the Oysterfest Bar Bash.
*9/19 Rockaway Oyster Festival is a daylong oyster, beer and music festival. 2pm-7pm.
*9/26 Stone Street Oyster Festival XIII: set downtown in the Financial District, this is Manhattan's largest outdoor oyster festival.
*9/26 OystoberFest. The fourth annual Oystoberfest is New York's signature craft beer and oyster event.
*9/27 Local Oyster Showcase. Day trip out to the Sparkling Pointe Winery in Southold, NY to enjoy local oysters, paired with wines from vines growing only a few miles away. Learn about aquaculture and vticulture and meet those who practice these crafts in a beautiful setting on Long Island’s North Fork.
