William Bell's Memphis Soul Revue - B.B. King Blues Club & Grill
April 22, 2018 - New York

The man who co-wrote one of the most covered songs in blues/rock music history is also an original "soul man," and he's back! William Bell, who wrote "Born Under a Bad Sign" with Booker T. Jones, a tune first recorded by Albert King and made legend by Eric Clapton and Cream, has returned to Stax Records and is ready to retake the limelight. Fresh off of his featured role in the Memphis music documentary "Take Me To The River," where William and Snoop Dogg performed another of his compositions, Bell is teaming up with Grammy-winning producer John Leventhal (Rosanne Cash, Rodney Crowell, Shawn Colvin) to record his first major label album in over 30 years.

Jazz For Kids - Jazz Standard
April 22, 2018 - New York

The Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra is a performance driven program that gives talented and dedicated young jazz musicians the opportunity to perform regularly in one of New York City's leading jazz clubs often with guest artists from the New York scene. The visiting guests give a workshop to the band members in addition to providing the experience of playing with the top musicians on the scene. On Sundays during the school year, the students rehearse and workshop in the room before opening the doors at 1:00pm and giving a concert that is free and open to the public at 2:00pm.

Calypso Rose - B.B. King Blues Club & Grill
April 23, 2018 - New York

Forget the thorns, because she has them, and without delay pick this (Calypso) Rose who, at 75 years old, looks fresher than ever. Far From Home has to be the 20th album at least of her crowded discography and the latest chapter of an eventful career started in 1964. But you'll never hear her sound in the least bit tired; quite the opposite. Petulant, energetic, vehement, jovial, gregarious... there aren't enough words to describe her performance on these 12 tracks on which she generously dispenses her joie de vivre with the voice of a young girl.
