Enjoy Hanukkah music from around the world with Elad Kabilio and the musicians from MusicTalks. Hear Maoz Tzur in a whole new way, along with Hanukkah songs from Israel, Yemen, Spain and Ukraine. Sing along with all the familiar favorites, too. But that’s not all! After the concert, kids meet the musicians and try out their instruments in Elad’s musical petting zoo! Sensory-Friendly Santa with Autism Speaks - Brookfield Place

Santa welcomes children of all ages and abilities! This compassionate, sensory-friendly event allows families with children with all spectrums of special needs to experience the time-honored tradition of a Santa visit, in a comforting environment prior to public hours. Accommodations are made to support the sensory, physical, and developmental needs of this special audience. Sensory-Friendly Santa is held in partnership with Autism Speaks.

Cross-Stitch Circle - New York Historical Society

Drop in to try your skills at one of the oldest forms of embroidery in the world. Beginning cross-stitchers will learn the basic stitch and create a bookmark with their new skill. More seasoned stitchers can continue working on their bookmark or branch into more complicated designs – make a handcrafted gift for someone! Younger kids may also enjoy coming along and contributing to our community weaving using recycled fabrics and ribbons.

Watson Adventures’ Wizard School Scavenger Hunt for Harry Potter Fans - Metropolitan Museum of Art

Follow in the footsteps of young wizards on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in search of art that echoes characters, places and enchanted objects in the famed Harry Potter books and movies. Keep your trusty wand handy as you track down a powerful sorceress, a Snape-like potions master, Hagrid-like giants, and cloaked and masked figures as scary as any Death Eater or Dementor. The hunt is not an addition to or variation on Harry’s adventures, but instead references to the books will provide a surprising bridge to many strange and wonderful works of art. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, but all-adult teams can compete separately. For ages 10 and up. Advance purchase is required.

That PHYSICS or CHEMISTRY SHOW - Playroom Theater

NYC Tots: Winter Class Series - Museum of the City of New York
Through January 17, 2019 - Upper East Side

Register for six sessions that focus on exploration and discovery of winter in the city through song, play, and hands-on experiences. Learn to look with guided gallery tours of the throughout the Museum. Work on special seasonal art projects inspired by the winter wonderland. Sessions run on Thursdays from 10:00 am–12:00 pm on December 6, 13, and 20, and January 3, 10, and 17. This special program is offered for up to 20 toddlers and their adults who can commit to all of the series dates. The winter series costs $180 for one child and one adult. An additional charge of $80 applies for a second child between one and four years old. Maximum of two children per adult. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Missed classes are nonrefundable. Toddler programs are geared toward families with children ages two–four years old and include a snack. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.
