BroadwayCon 2018: Broadway's Biggest Names Come Out to Play

From all indications, the third BroadwayCon is stacking up to be all kinds of awesome, with a long list of Broadway stars including (but by all means not limited to): Christy Altomare, Laura Benanti, Heidi Blickenstaff, Stephanie J. Block, Sierra Boggess, Alex Brightman, Liz Callaway, Chad Kimball, Donna Murphy, Kelli O’Hara, Laura Osnes, Bryce Pinkham, Anthony Rapp, and Doug Wright.

Among the (staggering!) list of events is everything from fan-led meet-ups to workshops by industry pros to Show Spotlights with cast and creative teams to countless theatre lovers dressed as their favorite characters, amazing merchandise, and more, more, more.

Here’s just a small sampling of highlights: the A Bronx Tale Panel featuring the cast and creative team; a Show Spotlight on Dear Evan Hansen; and a panel dedicated to Disney’s upcoming Broadway musical Frozen featuring the show’s Oscar-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. I could go on, but it’s easier to just visit the show’s up-to-the-minute website BroadwayCon.com/Preview.

“I signed on to help create this event not only because it is the first convention for theatre fans, and not only because it is a singular opportunity to spend quality time with those who love Broadway most, but because this is the convention that this community deserves,” said BroadwayCon co-creator Anthony Rapp, who goes on to describe BroadwayCon’s gestalt as “...the perfect blend and marriage of all the things I believe in about what theatre can and should be and what community is and what fandom is. [It’s] about celebrating the passion and love for, and artistry of, the things you are."

See you at BroadwayCon!

AUTOGRAPHS & PHOTOS: FYI

Throughout the three day extravaganza, there will be autograph signings, photo ops, and meet and greets. Here is the lay of the land according to BroadwayCon’s organizers.

* Attendees who have a ticket to the autograph or photobooth session may line up no more than 15 minutes prior to the start of the session. Everyone who receives a ticket via lottery will be granted access to the appropriate session. It is recommended that you line up closer to the beginning of the session rather than the endbut not before the scheduled time.

* You will be asked to present a printed copy of your ticket. We will keep your ticket, so please do not use this as your item to be signed.

* You may only have one item signed at each autograph session.

* You may only have one photograph per photobooth session. This means you can bring friends to join you but again, only one photo.

* After you get your item signed or your photograph taken, leave the area promptly.

* Unfortunately, you may not take personal photographs or videos of yourself with our special guests. If you do so, your pass may be revoked.

* Photos will be available on the BroadwayCon Facebook page within one month of the conference.

TIPS AND TRICKS

* Because lines will be moving quickly, please have all jackets, backpacks, purses, lanyards, or any other items you do not want visible in the photo off and to the side.

* If getting a book signed, please have it open to the page you want signed. For all other items, please have them ready. Guests will be signing in black or silver ink; there are no other colors available.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Glasses may glare or make it hard for the photographer to see if you blinked, so they ask that you remove them if possible. If you prefer not to remove them, please try to tilt the glasses down and away from the lights.
